Sometimes it is difficult for me to say what I am trying to say, and sometimes I ramble a bit as a result.  I have been away from this site for awhile and have not written anything about anything...I have been halfway across the country and back again and still do not feel like I am home.

I left Mississippi in December of 2012 due to a closure of the facility where I was working.  I was sad to leave the delta area I had become so fond of, but was suffering from yet another misfire of fate and was feeling displaced.

I took a job in New Mexico working at a women's correctional facility and I am now facilitating cognitive classes and working with the women on reentry....my focus being to have a hand in significantly reducing recidivism among female offenders in New Mexico.  The work is rewarding and I enjoy what I do and yet, home seems like another place..

I will be visiting Kentucky and someone dear at the end of this month.  Perhaps the change of scenery and a bit of rest will bring more clarity....Be good to yourselves and to each other...more later..

Peace

October.....

October is a special month for me....not only is it cool, and perfect for outdoor activities...it is also a month that is heavy with special occasions for my family.  There are 5 birthdays to celebrate, a "quitting-smoking" anniversary, and an excuse to dress up and become, if only for a day, someone else.

I have fond memories of Octobers past, and expect this one to be remembered likewise as it fades into November..

My hope is that all my friends, wherever they may be, create memories to cherish throughout this glorious autumn month..

Peace....

New to the Delta

There is nothing quite like the Mississippi Delta.  For a blues lover like myself, this region is golden!  I am a stones throw's distance from countless footprints left by Robert Johnson...and I am certain that his spirit continues to reside in the rickety old churches and the riverside joints that are everywhere I go..
